Cabbage Salad

Submitted by Teresa Ness

½ Medium Cabbage, chopped or sliced. (I use the end of my grater that slices.)
3 green onions, sliced fine.
Combine these in a salad bowl and refrigerate.

1 Package chicken flavor Ramen Noodles, uncooked and broken into small pieces. Set aside.
(Save seasoning package for later in recipe.)

In a frying pan melt:
2 Tbsp. Butter or margarine.
Then add:
3 Tbsp. Sesame Seeds (I buy in the bulk food store because they are really cheap there.)
½ cup Slivered Almonds
Brown these and then remove from heat.

Add
2 Tbsp. White Sugar to frying pan mixture and dissolve.
(If it doesn't dissolve, put it back on the warm burner. Don't let it get in clumps.)

Let all this cool and put in a baggie to add before serving.

Dressing:
2 Tbsp. Sugar
½ cup oil
¼ cup white vinegar
½ tsp. pepper
½ tsp. basil
1 flavor pack from Ramen chicken noodles.
Put all these in a covered jar and shake to combine.

An hour before serving:
Add the dressing to the cabbage onion mixture and toss.

Just before serving:
Mix in the seeds and nut mixture and the broken, uncooked Ramen noodles.
