4 servings

Ingredients

4 eggs, beaten

3/4 cup half and half

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 tsp. cinnamon

1-1/2 tsp. brown sugar

4 thick slices French bread

Honey Pecan Sauce:

1/2 stick butter, melted

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup maple syrup

1/2 cup pecans, chopped

Directions

Mix the first five ingredients and pour half the mixture into a shallow dish. Arrange the bread in the dish and top with the remaining egg mixture. Cover and chill for 6 to 8 hours. You can make this right before bed and bake it in the morning.

For the sauce, melt the butter in a 9" by 13" baking dish. Stir in the brown sugar, honey, syrup and pecans. Remove the soaked bread and arrange the slices on top of the sauce. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, until puffed and golden. Serve immediately.

Notes: You can add whatever type of topping you like, such as honey butter or maple syrup.
