Almond Salad - A wonderfully delicious salad made with lettuce, pear, apple, craisins, and cashews tossed in an almond flavored dressing. Broccoli Salad - The broccoli, bacon, green onions, raisins, and pecans in a creamy tangy dressing. Chicken Dumpling Soup - This is a two day recipe, but it is well worth the wait! Yum!! Christmas Cookies (Spritz cookies) - This spritz cookie recipe was passed down from my mother. The hint of almond flavoring makes them sooo good. Christmas Rice Pudding (Julgrot) - This is a Swedish rice pudding that is traditionally served at Christmas. A whole almond is hidden in the pudding before serving. The lucky person who finds it will see their dreams come true in the year ahead. Cranberry Snack Cake - Here's a great snack cake I just made from my Taste of Home cookbook. It's topped with marshmallows, brown sugar, and pecans. Grandma Hauner's Bread Dumplings - These dumplings go best with a beef or pork roast and gravy. Klabbe - This is a Swedish dish of dumplings with salt pork gravy. It is traditionally served the 20th day after Christmas. Meringue Bread Pudding - This is a fancy bread pudding recipe that I make sometimes. Old Fashioned Bread Pudding - Traditional bread pudding with cinnamon and raisins. Perogie Casserole - Perogie layered casserole, topped with sour cream and chives. Yum! Popovers - Super easy to make and they turn out so soft and delicious. Potato Lefsa I - Traditional Swedish Potato Lefsa that's usually reserved for holiday meals. Ya you betcha! Rhubarb Bread or Muffins - You can make mini loaves or muffins with this recipe. Rhubarb Cake with Lemon Butter Sauce - Just tried this rhubarb cake and it is sooo good. The lemon sauce helps and a dollop of whip cream makes it even better. Only takes a cup of rhubarb and is so flavorful. Sauerkraut Salad - If you like sauerkraut, you will like this salad. It’s a nice side salad to have along with a sandwich. Sweet Potato Pie - Made with delicious sweet potatoes, butter, and spices. Zucchini Bread - A great recipe I got from my neighbor. |
