Mushroom Rolls

I made these for a baby shower and they were yummy.

Ingredients

½ c chopped onion

½ lb chopped mushrooms

¼ c margarine or butter

8 oz cream cheese

½ tsp Worcestershire sauce

½ tsp salt

⅛ tsp pepper

⅛ tsp garlic powder

1 loaf white sandwich bread sliced (if you can get it done saves time if sliced lengthwise)

Butter or margarine for brushing

Directions

Put onion, mushrooms, and butter into a frying pan. Sauté until soft and onions are clear.

Add cream cheese in chunks. Add Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir until cheese melts. Let stand until completely cool.

Remove crusts from bread. Roll each slice with rolling pin.

Spread mushroom mixture on each slice and roll as for jelly roll. Brush with melted butter.

Place on tray in freezer until frozen then store in a plastic bag.

To serve, cut each roll into 3 pieces (assuming you are using regular sliced bread). Arrange on ungreased baking sheet.

Bake at 400ºF for 10-15 minutes until toasted & hot.
