Ham and Broccoli Casserole

2 cups cubed ham

1¼ lbs. broccoli  (I bought 3 stocks which was about 1 lb. after I peeled and cleaned it.)

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 cup sour cream

½ cup milk

¾ cup grated sharp cheese

1 tsp. mustard


Clean, peel and cut broccoli in pieces (I use the stems, some people I know throw them away and just use the flowerets).  Boil for 5 Min. and drain.


In large bowl mix soup, sour cream, milk, cheese and mustard.  Blend well.  Add ham and broccoli and stir.


Put in 2½ qt. greased casserole.



½ cup cracker crumbs

¾ cup sharp grated cheese

Mix well


Sprinkle on Topping.  Bake 1 hr. at 350º.   Check at one hour or sooner to see if the center is very hot.  


At the end, I usually turn on the broiler and brown the topping if it is not brown.


Cook's Notes:

I like to cook about 1 cup (probably a little more) of macaroni nuggets to use with this as there is usually lots of sauce.    You could use other types of pasta too if you like them better.
