Toll House Pie

eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

1 deep dish graham cracker crust (see note)
 
Preheat oven to 325º

 

In large bowl, beat eggs until foamy, about 3 minutes. 

Beat in flour and sugars until well blended. 

Beat in softened butter. 

Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. 

Pour into deep dish graham cracker crust. 

 

Bake 55 to 60 minutes or until knife comes out clear and pie is golden brown. 

 

Enjoy warm with ice cream and drizzled with chocolate syrup.  

 

Notes:  I usually cheat and purchase two "deep dish" graham cracker crusts and make 1½ times the recipe and divide it between the two crusts.  One for now...and one in the freezer for later!!!  I found that using the full recipe with one crust comes out really thick...almost too thick.
