Strawberry Dessert

Dessert Crust

1/2 cup margarine   

1/2 cup chopped walnuts  

1 cup flour  

1/4 cup brown sugar 

Melt margarine in 9 x 13 pan.  Add flour, sugar and walnuts and mix well.  Bake at 350º for 30minutes.  Stir every 5 minutes or so and break lumps.  Keep half of the crust for the topping and spread the other half evenly over the pan bottom.

 

Filling

egg whites   

1 cup white sugar   

1-10 oz frozen strawberries, partially thawed   

1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice   

1/2 pt whipping cream

 

Beat egg whites, partially thawed strawberries, and lemon juice until very thick.  (I think it takes over 5 minutes.  It has to be able to stand in peaks.)  Add white sugar slowly.  Fold in beat up whipping cream and spread over crust.  Sprinkle the remaining half of the crust over the top of the filling.  Freeze until time to serve.
