1/2 cup butter or margarine 1/2 cup shortening 2 eggs 2 cups brown sugar 2 tsp. vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups flour 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 3 cups rolled oats Optional: 1/2 cup nuts or 1 cup raisins
Mix butter with shortening and then with sugar, add eggs one at a time. Mix well. Stir in flour, salt and baking soda. Mix well.
Stir in oats and raisins or nuts. Mix well. Roll into about 1 inch balls, dough will be sticky, and bake in a 350º oven for 10-12 minutes. |
