Mom's Trifle

Yellow cake mix  (I have also used white and lemon)
Strawberry or Raspberry Jam
1 pkg instant vanilla pudding, prepared
1 large container Cool Whip
1 pkg frozen unsweetened berry mixture, thawed
1 pkg frozen strawberries in syrup, thawed

Bake cake as directed for 9x13 cake. Cool completely.

Spread layer of jam over cake.

Mix pudding as directed on package.  Spread over jam.  Cut cake in small pieces.

Mix berries and strawberries.

Layer in a large glass bowl:  Cake, Fruit, Cool Whip, Cake, Fruit, Cool Whip

Refrigerate. 

 

Best if made morning before you plan on serving.  The longer it sits, the more flavor goes through.
